August Expenses

Getting teeth and shoes done and another vet visit all in a couple weeks makes for an expensive month. Don’t worry, the vet bill was only for booster shots and a health certificate. When we go to our fair, we have to have a clean health certificate from within the last 30 days. While the vet was out, we also had booster shots given at her recommendation.

It was also time for a dentist visit for Stinger and Angus, so we had that done in August too. Stinger was clearly thrilled. I included the cost for this in the vet bill category. We also went for another session of PEMF treatment.

As for shows this month we went to four. These were smaller shows, so the entry fees were minimal ranging from $10-$20 a show. Our total miles came out to 295, so my half of the gas was almost $80. The closest show was about 15 minutes away and the longest took a little over an hour. I mostly ran exhibitions, but I ran one pole class and straight barrels and placed in both. I only got some ribbons, no money.

August was time to stock up on more probiotic supplements, along with two more bags of feed. I also bought some fly spray. The farm supply category was a lot larger this month. The total includes $80 for another load of sawdust and the rest was for eight new stall mats. We need to do some repairs in our barn, so we first have to build another stall to use while we are working. See the complete August summary below.
